Web Development

I am experienced in both static and server-side web development. My knowledge of XHTML and CSS is very good, allowing me to create sites without table layouts, as I am a strong believer in the semantic web. I also have years of experience in Perl and SQL for creating dynamic sites. I have also recently been employed developing under Zope and Plone, and become very familiar with these technologies.

Consultancy

I am available to be consulted on many topics, especially database design, and implementations of server side programmes I am familiar with. If you need somebody, please get in contact, so we can have a chat, and find out if I am able to provide insights on what you need.

Technical support/training

Many organisations have computer systems that are poorly set-up, and their staff do not know how things function correctly, only how they are doing it. Such a situation is very dangerous, it can lead to flaws in security which allow virus or crackers into a system, potentially damaging your data and your reputation. I have experience in using Windows, Mac and GNU/Linux operating systems, and am available to lend a hand in training your staff.

Hosting

If you require a website, there are many things to think about, not least hosting. I can, for a small fee, host your site on an account I hold with 1&1 internet, subject to their terms and the site not contravening any laws.
